ABOUT THE ARTIST

I'm Katharina Ücker, an artist based in Lörrach, Germany. I create abstract paintings that tell stories of trust and courage. 

 

Art has been a lifelong passion of mine, even though my style has changed over time. Throughout the past few years, I’ve devoted myself to abstract art, where I found freedom from perfection and developed my very own way of expressing myself.

In 2023, my artistic style grew into what it is today, even though it is an ever evolving process. What makes my style unique are the expressive color combinations and my painting process: Each artwork unfolds over a lengthy period of time through multiple wash layers before I complete it with the final details.

To me the main source of inspiration is nature and its endless variety of beauty. Additionally, my faith deeply influences the process of shaping my creations. Each artwork is a unique journey of stepping out in courage, letting go of control and seeing where the painting takes me.   

 

My hope is that through my artwork you may find courage to take steps into the unknown and live out the dreams and hopes you carry in your heart. I believe we need constant reminders in our everyday lives to show us who we are and what matters to us so that we can take courageous steps to create our own story. 

 

I hope my artwork inspires you to do just that. I hope it makes you courageous and just maybe one of my works will get to accompany you in walking your own journey of trust and courage.
